About SoloStack
SoloStack exists for one reason: there are now thousands of AI tools, most of them oversold, and a one-person business doesn't have time to test them all. We do that testing and report back in plain English — what a tool is genuinely good at, where it falls short, and whether it's worth the money for someone running solo.
Who writes this
I'm PJ Geldenhuis. I run a one-person operation and I'm mildly obsessed with using AI and automation to do the work of a much bigger team. Everything I recommend here is something I've actually put through real tasks — drafting, research, scheduling, admin — not just read about in a press release.
When I write that a tool saved me time, it's because it did. When I write that something isn't worth it yet, that's me saving you a wasted afternoon and a subscription you'll forget to cancel.
How we test
- Real tasks, not demos. Tools get judged on the everyday jobs of a solo business: writing, summarizing, research, email, scheduling, and bookkeeping-adjacent admin.
- Total cost honesty. We flag free tiers, hidden limits, and the price after the trial ends.
- We say "skip it." If a tool is hype, we'll tell you. A review that recommends everything is useless.
Who this is for
Freelancers, creators, side-hustlers, and small-business owners of one. If you're trying to punch above your weight with a tiny budget and no team, you're in the right place.
